Schizoid personality disorder (SPD) is a personality disorder characterized by a lack of interest in social relationships, a tendency towards a solitary lifestyle, secretiveness, emotional coldness, and sometimes (sexual) apathy, with a simultaneous rich, elaborate, and exclusively internal fantasy world.
Sherri had many close friends, plenty of close and favorites that she spent day after day with. Endless time was spent on her favorite people. Her best friends. The only problem was that they weren’t real.. well, everyone else said so. But Sherri didn’t believe them. How could they not be real if they made her so happy? They were so good to her, so good for her. They just had to be real, they couldn’t be fake because that would be crazy and she was not crazy. Not in the least. Everyone called her weird, eccentric. A freak. Her hair colors were unwelcome as she was growing up. She was picked on for it, how weird she dressed.. how odd her hair was. How would she ever get a job with a hair color like that? How would people ever like her looking like that? How would anyone even want to talk to her if all she was ‘fake’ friends? Oh how she hated to hear that, she hated to hear her friends weren’t real. She preferred them far better over everyone else. So she just chose not to talk to anyone but her best friends. Unless she had to of course, for tour. For performances and recording and all the typical, mandatory stuff that had to be done when you were on tour. She always was sweet and polite to everyone she met, but her head was constantly in the clouds. Her mind was so very far away otherwise, music was the only thing that kept her feet on the ground. Otherwise she would be so very far away and lost in her friend’s world.
